Windhorse Retreat Center is located in a beautiful glacial area adjacent to the 15,000 acre Kettle Moraine State Forest. Near Plymouth, WI, it's less than one hour north of Milwaukee, 2 hours from Madison, 2.5 hours from Chicago, and 5 hours from Minneapolis. Built in the 1970s as a state-of-the-art passive solar house, it has been home to Windhorse Retreat Center since 2002. Open year-round, it's available to rent for meditation retreats, nature exploration, private events, and more. The area contains hilly terrain and glacial landforms, such as kettles, kames and eskers, and the hiking and cross-country ski trails lead directly into the Kettle Moraine State Forest.
The building has two separate spaces, the East Side and the West Side. Each space can be rented separately or the facility as a whole. The building can accommodate one person or a large group.
The East Side has 3 bedrooms (two with double beds, one with a twin bed, futon, and desk), a full bath, a full eat-in kitchen, and a large living space with high ceilings and lots of natural light.
The West Side is more rustic and has an upper and lower level. The upper level has 1 bedroom (with a double bed), a meditation space/study, a kitchen, a dining space, and a bathroom with shower stall. The lower level has a living space and office/library.
Essentials are provided: towels, bedding, hangers, toilet paper, soap, pots and pans, dishes and utensils. There is ample parking and each side has a private entrance.
